I’ve spent the last twenty years professionally recording, mixing and mastering and love working on forward thinking music on the fringes of electroacoustic, noise, industrial, ambient and folk.
I cut my teeth running Cassette Music in Liverpool, recording hundreds of local bands before moving to London to setup Flesh and Bone Studios. Over the ten years of Flesh and Bones’ operation, I worked as a recording engineer for producer Luke Smith and toured extensively as a front of house engineer. This led to setting up live recording company Output Audio and working as a mix engineer at Melody VR; mixing multitracked concerts for a wide variety of artists such as Ryuichi Sakamoto, Lana Del Rey, Blake Shelton, Post Malone, Alice Cooper and Arcade Fire.
Seeking to focus on mixing and mastering, I relocated to the Montagne Noire in the south of France and setup a new studio on the edge of the forest. A hybrid setup based around a Crane Song Spider mixer and Metric Halo interfaces, enables me to get the most out of a selection of cutting edge digital and analog processors. The studio is wired with tie-lines, to a garage downstairs to reamp sources through a variety of speakers and a seperate room for tracking vocals.
